When a human life ends what do you think happens to the thoughts that they held in their minds?
If these are chemical and electric connections in the brain, what becomes of them?
How would you describe what happens to consciousness when one dies?

It depends on the manner of death, but I'd imagine that ultimately your thoughts cease for good. Any thoughts that were not recorded or otherwise passed on are lost forever.

I guess that subjectively a very sudden death might be similar to undergoing general anaesthesia, but without the waking up part.

That strikes me as terribly wasteful. It would not be surprising to me if we were living in a big computer program, given the way quantum mechanics works. I would like to think that we are all "saved' and given more opportunities to enrich the simulation.

That'd be nice, but unfortunately there's only one way to find out (an experiment I am not willing to perform).

That’s easy. Thoughts merely disappear into nothingness just like the words in a book and the information contained in the book disappear when disolved in sulfiric acid.

I used to be more open minded about this but the existance of God and an afterlife seems to ridiculous to me. Especially given the way that every christian I’ve ever met acts. Each and every one of them will say one thing on Sunday around noon and behave differently for the rest of the week. Then to account for this contradiction they all use the excuse “Well, we’re only human.” As if that explains the extreme contradiction between what they say and what they do.
