    Hello!

Why does it take more than 7 hours to fly from Europe to USA while when returning only about 6h although its the same track? Does it have anything to do with the rotation of the Earth around its own axes (from W to E)?
    thank you!!

The main reason is the wind. In the temperate zone, the prevailing wind is from west to east, so planes going in that direction get a boost, while planes going from east to west have a ground speed less than air speed.

Thank you! And I have some more questions..
Is that wind constant throughout the year?(because, from what I know, the fenomenon is not particular to a period) If yes, then what causes it? Does it have anything to do with the rotation of the Earth?
