Since we're talking about rules in another thread recently I have a couple of things that I think should be in the rule section. I doubt that any leader of any forum would set up rules that they had to follow (except when I had my own forum. I did it and it worked out wonderfully!) so let's call them guidelines. I'd like to see the following guidelines that moderators should adhere to otherwise it'd be a Do what I say, not as I do! situation.

In either PM or E-mail sent from forum, no moderators should ever

    (1) ...swear at a members.
    (2) ...insult a member.
    (3) ...falsely accuse a member. To prevent this from happening, when a moderator sends a member a PM about something the moderator claimed the member did then that PM must specifically and clearly state with a link to the post/thread, the post # and the time tag on the post.

Thank you. Recent unsavory actions by an individual has caused me reduce the strongly decrease the amount I post in a typical day. Take care my friends.

Thanks. Quite admirable. May I suggest that moderators and admin treat members in the same way as a host would treat friends they invite over their house for a cocktail party? I think that will give you a guideline. If you'd like I can PM the rules I set down for myself and other moderators in the forum I used to have. The members of that forum told me that it was best forum on the internet that they've ever seen in their life and that they loved it. It was because of the way I treated the members, i.e. with great respect. Even those who tore me a new one. However membership was by invitation only which is quite different from here. Only people I knew very well and people they vouched for were asked to join.
