More a question than feedback, I suppose.

What are the edit time limits in the software set to? As I understand it, there's one limit within which you don't get the "last edited by..." notice, and another after which all editing is impossible (for normal users, at least).

    Thanks.

I think the admin is not available atm (assuming it's the same one for the parent forum.)

So like, I can't directly quote people and stuff. But we'd be all out luck until admin gets to it.

    Just a guess.

I find that if I press "QUOTE" twice, I obtain the quoted text within the appropriate quote tags, although I have no formatting controls and have to manually use tags to include formatting, links, images, etc.

That's most interesting ! When I click Quote twice, I am getting a window with the all the formatting controls etc ( yes, I see those just fine ! ), but the edit box itself is grey and does not accept any input. Hence at the moment I can neither quote nor edit, except by manually cutting and pasting into the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of each thread - strangely enough that Quick Reply box then works just fine ??

I don't seem to be able to get hold if the site admin either, he seems to be away on leave.

I'm currently running Internet Explorer 11 under Windows 7 and applying Compatibility View for this site (and The Science Forum). Ever since I started posting here, I have had to close my browser and re-open it before doing things like posting or editing posts, and have generally found this site (in particular, compared to The Science Forum) to be quite temperamental, even before the current problems.

I'm using Safari on an iMac with OSX Mavericks, but I don't think these issues are browser related, since I have the same problems when I use Google Chrome or Firefox.

I use Chrome on a Linux desktop and an Android phone, and have the same issue as KJW (post #3) with replying to posts on both platforms.

No-one knows the answers to my questions in the OP, I take it?

The notice about a post having been edited appears after 5 min. The function to limit the ability to edit a post is currently disabled, so there is no time limit after which a post can't be edited.
