Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out what H = U + pV means. I know what enthalpy means in theory: the total energy within a system. But I just don't understand the equation... Can someone explain?

I can't upload any pictures so I can't make a screenshot and post it here... But here's the website where I got my explanation for enthalpy: https://www.linseis.com/en/media-cen...icon/enthalpy/

I don't understand what they mean by " As sum of the internal energy U and the product of Volume V and pressure p itís a thermodynamic state function" Why do these things equal enthalpy?
