    A physics forum has to have LaTeX on it. I have opened a ticket with our server host for this. I'll post here an update as soon as it's up.

    Perhaps I'm a bit foggy in the head, but is the "LaTeX Commands Quick-Menu" working? I can't seem to get it happening for my TeX equations.

    Also, is there a button that automatically adds in the [tex] tags like on TSF? This would be great.

    Trying out vectors... Expression codes noted from Wikipedia.

    \vec{v} = \langle v_1, v_2, v_3 \rangle = v_x \hat{\imath} + v_y \hat{\jmath} + v_z \hat{k}

    Is it not conventional for the unit vectors (i j k) to be bold-faced? If so, how do I make them bold within TeX tags?

    You can do that like so :

    \mathbf{\hat{j}}

    Latex from my end isn't working. I need to give an update and it can't be done without Latex. It's such a hassle to create Latex on my computer then upload to image hosting site and then insert the image here.

    Hope there is an easy way to insert Latex for junior members like me.

    Seems to be working ok for me...? Are you using the correct format when posting Latex - it needs to be enclosed in tex and /tex, with these commands being in angle brackets [].

    I tried again still not working - I also can't attach a file or image.

    Another member told there may be post limit for new members. Is that the case?

    The limit is set at 10 posts, so you are already above and beyond that. In any case, it does not affect LaTeX. Can you include some LaTeX in your next post, and let me see how it comes out ?

    No problem. There does seem to be a problem with the Latex quick menu - the site admin is aware of this, and working on it.

    On another forum, that doesn't have LaTeX, I got asked how hard it would be instyall in conjunction with vbulletin.

    It's not very hard so long as the server architecture fully supports the necessary plug-ins. The devil is usually in the detail, as sometimes you are left having to play with pretty obscure settings in even more obscure configuration files. I would probably just open a support ticket with the hosting company, and get them to sort it for you; here is where it pays off to be using a hosting provider who is good customer service
